CUPF Director's Report: January 2024
Winter brings holidays like New Year’s Day and President’s
Day along with the cold and possible snow.
These holidays do not stop community use thanks to the hard-working ICB
and MCPS staff members who partner to make sure that the public facilities are
open and available for use by our community members.
As we start
a new year, I want to take this opportunity to thank the many after-hours ICB
workers who ensure that schools are open, clean and safe for use. The coming year will be full of hard work by
those staff members who will spend many hours cleaning, managing facilities and
otherwise supporting the community events that take place in our schools and
government buildings.
CUPF is a
success because we operate like a well-oiled machine from the assistance with scheduling
performed by our Core Services and Silver Spring Building staff, the management
of ICB weekend and evening staff performed by our ICB supervisors; as well as
the Silver Spring event monitors, and the operation of the many facilities
performed by the Building Service staff.
While we operate like a well-oiled machine, the staff members who perform duties to keep things running are
thoughtful, supportive and dedicated workers who strive to ensure that the
community has a positive and successful experience during their community use
events.
I am very
proud of our staff and the amount of work that goes into making all community
use events a positive and enriching experience.
Please join me in saying thank you to all those who make our community
use experiences enjoyable and safe.
