The Wheaton Mural Dedication

Murals, Murals, and more Murals!! The visual landscape of Wheaton has changed drastically over the past few years. With the addition of murals on the side of numerous structures, the "pops" of color have added another level of originality to this vibrant community.

Thanks to the Wheaton Arts Parade organization, the expansion of murals throughout Wheaton has been abundant and fascinating. On July 27, the community was finally able to see the "Wheaton Mosaic Mural." The delay of the dedication was in part due to the COVID-19 health Crisis, hindering the installation of this amazing mural.

Congratulations to all the individuals and agencies that took part in making sure this mural received its well-deserved exposure. Kudos to The Pembridge Square Apartments community and residents of Amherst Gardens for providing additional support to the families living in Montgomery Housing Partnership apartments (MHP).

CUPF's Attendance

CUPF works with a plethora of agencies and community organizations, providing support regarding the reservation and usage of facilities throughout the county. Taking part in the unveiling of a mural was special because CUPF was able to witness, firsthand, the collaborative efforts of the community. Our support also comes from applauding the mosaic artists Edwin Salmeron and Ge'Vonna Keyes. Thank you, Dan Thompson of Wheaton Arts Parade and Montgomery County Councilmember Natali Fani-González, for your support while speaking during the ceremony.
