Building Services Appreciation Day!!
Dear CUPF Community,
Building Services Appreciation Day is October 2, 2026, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the hardworking building service workers who make community use possible in our schools. Their dedication keeps our facilities safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, families, and the many community groups who rely on these spaces every day.
These team members play a vital role in supporting both indoor and outdoor community use. Their partnership with CUPF and MCPS helps ensure that fields, gyms, classrooms, auditoriums, and shared spaces are ready for activities across evenings, weekends, and other high-demand times. From preparing facilities for reservations to coordinating maintenance needs that keep events run smoothly, building service workers are essential to delivering the positive community experiences we strive for.
On this appreciation day, we extend our sincere thanks to the building service staff for their dedication, their professionalism, and the positive impact they have on our schools and the broader community. We are grateful for all they do.
Warm regards,
Genel D. Burwell Community Use of Public Facilities, Director
