⚠️Community Safety Update⚠️ | Weather Advisory: Heat and Air Quality Alert in Effect

 Published: July 17, 2026

Dear CUPF Community,

Montgomery County Government has been closely monitoring the air quality conditions. A Code Purple Air Quality alert has been issued for Friday, July 17, 2026.

Out of caution, Community Use of Public Facilities will honor cancellations and issue full refunds for all indoor and outdoor facility use on any date when an air quality alert is in effect. This temporary air quality-related cancellation allowance will be in effect on Friday, July 17, 2026, through Sunday, July 19, 2026.

All cancellation fees will be waived during this period.

Groups are encouraged to provide as much advance notice as possible by submitting a Reservations Amendment Form.

If a group decides on the day of its scheduled activity to cancel, or if a group arrives at a facility and determines the air quality is making it uncomfortable to safely hold the activity, they must contact CUPF directly to receive a refund:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. | 🖁240-777-2725
  • Evenings and weekends | 🖁240-490-2873
Groups may also reschedule any use canceled under the heat-allowance policy by visiting ActiveMONTGOMERY.org and following standard scheduling guidelines, including the required seven-day advance booking.

Thank you for using public facilities for community events and activities!
